I have a holistic approach to counseling which means I consider the mind, body, and spirit to be essential to well-being. We are all a part of groups such as our family, school, work, and community; therefore, no one can be viewed in isolation.
I believe the therapeutic process is much more beneficial and efficient when counseling is viewed as a collaboration. We will work as a team to help you gain different perspectives and solutions. I provide a safe, encouraging, nurturing, creative, compassionate and nonjudgmental environment where you will feel heard and understood.
I have observed in my many years of practice that many people come to me feeling there is something intrinsically wrong with them. I believe health and strength have to be emphasized for a person to feel empowered and understand that their experiences are normal. You and your life experiences can be your best teacher and I utilize the lessons and wisdom you have gained to facilitate change and propel you to a better life.
My approach encompasses both action and growth. I believe in order for counseling to be successful we must ‘peel back some layers’ to see why we continue to get stuck in unhealthy patterns. The intention is not to dwell on the past but to understand that we are the products of our environment and the patterns these environments have created.
Your life can be nourishing, productive and satisfying. I consider it a privilege and an honor to assist you in your quest for optimal happiness and health.
